The Company
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Account Officer to join this dynamic and thriving agricultural company who are located in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Their office is close to restaurants, cafes and retail shops. With a focus on mentorship and valuing input, the company promotes a professional and enjoyable work culture.
The Role
Reporting into the CFO, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is a hands-on and high-volume transactional role sitting within the Finance team.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Manage Accounts Payable (80%) and Accounts Receivable (20%)
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices, purchase orders, payment runs and reconciliations using Xero
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Assist with month-end activities, including AP accruals and ledger reconciliations
- Support Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, payment allocation and debtor management
- Monitor outstanding accounts and proactively follow up overdue payments
- Maintain and improve financial processes, controls and accurate
What do I need to be successful?
- Proven experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable role, with a strong understanding of Accounts Receivable processes
- Exposure to ERP systems, ideally Xero and ApprovalMax
- Confident Excel skills, including reconciliations and reporting
- Strong understanding of financial processes, controls and best practices
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and data entry skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and consistently meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a can-do attitude and genuine desire to contribute to a positive team culture
