The Company
Based in the corporate head office, there is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced HR Operations & Talent Manager to join a highly regarded not for profit that makes a genuine difference in people's lives. The company is based in the CBD/East Melbourne that have very lovely and modern offices which makes coming into work a little easier, with some flexibility for you to work from the comfort of your own home too!
  
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in leading both the HR Operations and Recruitment functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR services across the Melbourne corporate office. This position offers the perfect blend of leadership and hands-on involvement, driving the transition to a modern HR service model that enhances efficiency, accountability, and the overall employee experience.
You will lead a passionate team of four and work closely with HR leaders to provide seamless, compliant, and people-centred HR support. Overseeing operations, payroll, onboarding, and people systems, you will also champion recruitment practices that reflect the organisation’s values, culture, and commitment to excellence.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
  • Lead and develop the HR Operations team, fostering collaboration and service excellence.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, including drafting adverts, screening, shortlisting , interviewing and on-boarding
  • Ensure an inclusive, professional, and values-aligned candidate experience
  • Partner with HR leaders to deliver consistent, high-quality programs and initiatives
  • Oversee HR systems (Employment Hero/HeroPay), data integrity, payroll and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Drive process improvements and the transition to a shared service model that enhances efficiency and employee experience
  • Provide expert guidance on HR governance, employment law, and policy application
  • Track and analyse key HR and recruitment metrics, supporting continuous improvement and engagement initiatives
  
What will I need to succeed?
  • Proven experience in a senior Recruitment/Talent/HR Operations role within a complex organisation
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources/Business Administration/or a related field
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, employment law, compliance, and systems (Employment Hero/HeroPay a bonus)
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes
  • Experience leading and motivating a small, service-focused team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • A proactive and curious mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
